”Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” <Is 40:28-29>

Second answer, God gives you strength when you are weary. Note v. 29a.The word “weary” refers to the “exhausted person,” or “a physically fatigued person.” This is someone who is on the point of collapse. What does God give to this person? He gives strength,  power, might, the capacity to endure or the ability to cope with difficult situations.  When your reach the end of your rope, when you are so weary and tired, it is your God who gives you strength to cope and endure and become victorious.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. <Isaiah 41:10>

Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives and God’s plans, but God is not helpless among the ruins. Our broken lives are not lost or useless. God’s love is still working. He comes in and takes the calamity and uses it victoriously, working out his wonderful plan of love.

Third answer: God gives you power when you are weak,  ”and to them that have no might he increaseth strength <40:29b> The one who has no might is the one without strength, vigor or health. To this one, God “increaseth strength” or multiplies might. When the race lies before you, and the wind is blowing strong, when your strength is almost gone, when you are at your weakest point, it is God who gives power to you in your weakness.

We live in a world full of people struggling to be, or at least to appear strong, in order not to be weak; and we follow a gospel which says that when I am weak, then I am strong. And this gospel is the only thing that brings healing.

Remember, when all you have are questions, God can be your source of strength…
