Harvest Baptist Church, Langley, BC
How God stirred our hearts during this revival at this Philippino church. Never have I been so challenged and convicted by a congregation as I was with this one. As we watched this church we saw true love for one another, true humility and sacrifice of personal desires, true joy and delight in serving Jesus (Many of our services started at 7:30 with the people leaving around midnight), and a true passion for the presence of God. We were originally scheduled from Sunday - Tuesday, but the Holy Ghost moved us to extend the meeting at least through Friday (We had to leave on Friday morning due to travel, but the church met that night). One family had transfered from a another church and explained, “We couldn’t understand why the people were in such a hurry to leave. We wanted a church where the preacher was not limited.” Convicting, very convicting, is it not!? These dear people seemed to be completely unaware of time during the meetings. I thought of Duncan Cambell’s words, “In revivel, time does not exist.” The teenagers in this church displayed a spiritual maturity equal to or greater than my own. They knew how to pray fervently, they lived for nothing but to yield their lives to Christ, they showed no trace of the world (Though many went to public school by necessity), their rooms were filled with scripture verses, they passed out tracts and witnessed to co-workers, and on and on we could go. Our hearts were stirred, our eyes were opened, and our spirits were burdened for the increasingly apathetic spirit of the churches in the US. O how we need an awakening! God grant that we might put aside our pride and recognize all the symptoms of apathy, powerlessness, fruitlessness, and coldness. O revive us again Lord!

Here is a people weighed down by a heaven sent burden for revival. They have been praying, pleading, and pursuing God for a deep movement amongst them. They have confessed their need and longing for a greater and deeper work of God’s Spirit in their midst. Join us in prayer as we begin this revival tomorrow.
