Blog for Victory Baptist Church of the Poconos

October 2008
Dear Friends,
We are very excited about the prospective future of our ministry in Moldova. In eleven months we look forward to opening the Bible Institute in Moldova, which means we are very busy with preparations and planning. Stephanie and I have been in the States since the end of August raising funds and sharing the blessings of God in Moldova. The Moldovan team has been busy working on the property, preparing classes and lessons, as well as all the work that will go into next summer’s camp.
The school dormitory rooms are finished except for installing the heating systems. We do have the funds to install radiators and the furnace. We have decided to add a third floor to the dormitory for the classrooms. We have the funds for this and have just received the building permits necessary. Due to the fall rains and winter freeze, we will do this work in March and April. I received word this week from Moldova that the natural gas line is ready to be installed to the buildings in the camp. This is going to cost more than I originally was told; we need to raise $37,000 in order to put natural gas into the camp. Without this gas line obviously we are not going to be able to heat the camp. I realize that we are in a time of recession; however, God is still able to meet this need through His people. We need seventy-four individuals or churches that would give $500 each for this need. No one person can do this, but collectively we can.
We will invite 72 outstanding young people to attend the school next September. Pray that we will have wisdom in our selection process. Since we will not have room for more students until the first class is finished, we plan to teach and train these 72 through for three years of the school program. We will educate them in the Scriptures, but more importantly, we will make of them disciples of Christ ready to serve as pastors, church planters, evangelists, teachers and missionaries to reach the world for Christ. Please pray for these youth now. You don’t know them, but you can still pray for them. Pray for us as leaders in this ministry; the enemy is not pleased and we feel the attack.
There is much to do before next summer and even more on top of that before September and the school opening. Keep us in your prayers.
Pray for Moldova,
Dr. Eric Chapman
