“And the one on whom seed was sown among the thorns, this is the man who hears the word, and the worry of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” (Mt 13.22)
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to disciple many people. In their young Christian lives, they were so excited about their new found faith. Each one was a joyous experience to me as I witnessed the eager absorption of truth.
As time went by, for several, something happened. There was a falling away from the faith. This was due usually as a response to the circumstances of life or to the alluring desires of worldly things or activities. And they are gone. Leaving behind them questions and pain.
If you are someone who has turned away from the Lord, isn’t it about time you came back to Jesus?
A few weeks back I heard the following words sung:
I repent, making no excuses.
I repent, no one else to blame.
And I return, to fall in love with Jesus.
I bow down on my knees, and I repent.
To fall in love with Jesus, have you forgotten what it was like?
